Now...enough with the sappy sentimentality. Let's get this party started! In typical Scattered Joy style, I'd like us to all raise a glass and toast the anniversary with a wickedly sinful drink that I first shared with you on my very first blog post: hot buttered rum.
Hot Buttered Rum Cocktail Recipe : Emeril Lagasse : Food Network:
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
2 cups light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Pinch ground cloves
Pinch salt
Bottle dark rum
Boiling water
Whipped cream
Directions:
In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Refrigerate until almost firm. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into 12 small mugs. Pour about 3 ounces of rum into each mug (filling about halfway). Fill with boiling water (to fill the remaining half), stir well, top with whipped cream and serve immediately."

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I've been blogging over a year myself. Can't believe how fast the time has gone by, but it's been fun. I plan on writing an apology piece sometime in the next few days. Because, at over a year, I have no doubt I've offended someone (probably the French). I also have no doubt that I will offend someone in the future, so it will also be a "preemptive" apology.
As a writer, if you're not offending someone, you're not doing your job. Sounds like you're doing just fine. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy First Blogoversary, my joyous friend. And many, many more. That drink sounds wicked! Wickedly good. ;) Merry Christmas.
