Good Bye, Dear Friends

Alas, the end is near.  All good things must come to an end and I'm sorry dear friends but this wild ride is almost over.   So, before we must part, I want you to know that I will miss all of you dearly.  Or...at least some of you.  Because when we're sorted into groups of Good and Bad, I'm afraid we won't all end up in the same que.  I mean, I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going - I'm just not so sure about the rest of you.

So, it is with teary eyes and a gracious heart that I bid you all farewell.  Good bye, dear friends.

Of course, there is the possibility that the FamilyRadio.com people have it all wrong.  But being the moderate, sensible people they are, I highly doubt it.  I think we'd best prepare, repair, and repent.  Or whatever.

Here's my plan:  the sun is warm, the birds are singing, and it's the Friday before a long weekend so I'm buying some wine, cutting out early, and enjoying the rest of the day.   Just in case.

So, how are you spending your last day on earth?

  1. I'm reading your blog. Is there a better way to spend my last moments. As long as hell hasn't frozen over I'll be okay. I hate the cold!

I day will be as routine as all others, go to the farmers market, mow the grass, talk to my freshly planted tomatoes and most important of all NOT pay any attention to familyradio.com :-) I was wondering if they wanted to buy an Florida Swampland I own?

  5. What a fabulous post! And thanks for the update because I had no idea the end was soooo near!!

Since it's already the 21st here in NZ, I guess I don't have time to make any last-minute plans. It's been great--see ya!

  6. Clare: you mean, you're seeing the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie? I had to check my spelling of 'Caribbean' just now, and finally put it together with the carib bean - you know, the nut that tastes like chocolate? I never realized that before.

(Sorry... I'm a nerd for words.)

  7. I'm gonna open the pool. Now that I think about it, that may be a waste of time. And I bought 50 lbs of chlorine. Damn.
Bad News: I'm going to Purgatory for a thousand years or so (at least that's what the nuns told me).
Good News: I'll catch up with a lot of my family.
BTW: I NEVER noticed that about a Carib Bean. Nicely done!

  8. Bettyl: What?! NZ hasn't been made aware of this approaching doom? I guess the FamilyRadio people were negligent in posting their signs there. Damn them!

Al: Too bad about all that chlorine!

  10. HHHMMMmmm... wonder how that end of the world thing fits with different time zones??

And if it IS my last day, it doesn't much matter how I spend it because I won't be here to remember it. And neither will anyone else!!

But thanx for pointing it out anyway ...

  11. Ok so there is 2 mins left until the end of the world is supposedly happening and my dogs have jumped the fence and are scratching at the glass doors.
    I'm officially freaked out! haha!!
Hope my pizza comes in the next minute and a half though.

  12. Looks like we're still here, eh? That minister is gonna have some 'splaining to do in church tomorrow. Hmmm, on second thought, if he doesn't bother to show up, maybe the members will think he was taken in the rapture and they were all left behind ...

  15. So basically I spent the weekend preparing and repenting because you said so. But for the life of me, I couldn't figure out 'repair', so thank goodness the rapture was postponed because I still gotta figure that one out.

  16. That's okay about the chlorine. I ground it up and put in the wash with my whites.
